The photographer behind Hearts Home Photography.
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Long before I ever picked up a camera, I was captivated by the power of a photograph and the stories it could hold.
I was born three months premature, weighing just under two pounds. As a child, I carried a photograph of myself in the incubator everywhere I went. While other children played during recess, I would sit and study that image, fascinated by the story it told. It was one of the first photographs that taught me how powerful an image can be. Years later, after I lost that treasured photograph, my grandfather brought home a box of National Geographic magazines. Those pages opened a whole new world and deepened my love for images, storytelling, nature, and people.
My journey behind the camera began in middle school with a Kodak film camera, followed by a simple digital camera after high school. Some of the most meaningful photographs I have ever taken were documenting my oldest son's open-heart surgeries at just three days old and again at two years old. Those experiences taught me something I carry into every session today: photographs are more than pictures. They preserve moments that can never be recreated and become priceless with time.
When my youngest son was born, I invested in my first camera and began documenting everything around me—my family, wildlife, landscapes, everyday life, and the beautiful moments that often go unnoticed. Over the last 15 years, I've continued learning, growing, and photographing a wide variety of subjects.
Today, I photograph lifestyle and documentary stories—capturing everything from families, newborns, and couples to wildlife and nature. Whether I'm photographing a couple on their wedding day, a family welcoming a new baby, or a bird at sunrise, I shoot every photograph from the heart with the same passion and purpose.
Twenty years ago, after helping photograph a friend's newborn at the hospital, my best friend looked at the images and said, "You should be a photographer." Those words stayed with me through the years. Now, after a lifetime of loving photography and more than a decade behind the camera, I'm grateful to turn that passion into a way of serving others.
Most importantly, my faith is at the center of everything I do. I believe God weaves purpose into every life and beauty into every season. Photography allows me to celebrate His creation, preserve meaningful memories, and serve others through the gifts He has given me.
The name Hearts Home Photography reflects what photography means to me: preserving the people, places, and moments that make a home in our hearts.
